The Amoeba bars have been undibsed. Somebody must want these, they're a ridiculously strong and versatile set of bars. Come and get 'em!
Having a bit of a clear out, mostly beater stuff. Generic (OEM) and used condition (i.e., marked and grimy but fully functional) unless otherwise stated. Pickup from central or SW London please. Most of this stuff is too low value to be worth the hassle of posting, but I might consider it for multiple purchases. Swaps for some black handlebar tape (cushioned, rather than cloth) welcome.
Cockpit:
1- Amoeba DH handlebar £7- 675mm wide, 22.2mm (BMX) or 25.4mm clamp diameter with included shim. AL6061 T6 5mm walls, probably unbreakable.
2- Black alloy riser handlebar £4 sold to cupcakes– 620mm wide, 25.4mm clamp diameter.
3- Steel riser handlebar £3 sold to cupcakes– 600mm wide, 25.4mm clamp diameter, a bit scuffed at the ends, but has a nice sweep so could suit a town bike.
4- Headset spacers £2 – 1 & 1/8”, 2 x 10mm, 2 x 5mm
5- Silver alloy stem £3 sold to cupcakes– 100mm, 10 degree rise, to fit 1 & 1/8” steerer and 25.4mm handlebar
6- Black alloy adjustable stem £4 – 130mm (at 0 degrees), 0 – 60 degree rise, to fit 1 & 1/8” steerer and 25.4mm handlebar
7- SRAM Comp 3.0 gripshifts £1.50/bottleofrealale **sold to harv4130 **– 3 x 7, pretty worn, these seem to pull cable ok but I’ve not tested their shifting on a bike
Brakes:
8- Shimano cantilevers £5 – good condition, includes shimano M55/T wet/dry blocks for aluminium rims with a fair bit of life left in them and a shimano straddle cable
9- 3 pairs old fashioned caliper brake blocks £1.50/bottleofrealale per pair - 2 pairs Weinmann, 1 pair unbranded, all very lightly used
10- Black V-brakes** £Free/beerifyou’refeelingnice sold to **harv4130 – these have the bosses integrated as they came from a suspension fork with removable bosses. I can’t remove the bosses from the brakes so probably only suitable for another suspension fork with the holes to take these.
Drivetrain & Wheels:
11- A2Z cassette to singlespeed converter £7 sold to cupcakes- spacers, lockring, 16T and 18T 3/32” sprockets, less than 100 miles use, the 16T sprocket has never been fitted
12- Superstar components chain tensioner £7 **sold to cupcakes **– sprung type with jockey wheel, less than 100 miles use
13- Shimano 9-speed cassette (11-32) including lockring £3 – A bit worn bit still shifts well enough.
14- Shimano Rear QR skewer £2 – LX M570
15- Sachs Rear QR skewer £2
16- Set of 5 Sakae SR double chainring bolts £2 – A bit rusty
17- Sachs/Sunn rear 26” (MTB) wheel £10 – Sachs Sunn hub, Sunn rim (made by Rigida), 135mm OLN, will take a 9-speed Shimano cassette . Hub turns pretty smoothly but is not perfectly buttery, rim has very minimal wear to braking surface and a few minor nicks but runs true.
18- Alesa 913 rim £7 – 27 x 1 ¼ i.e., 32-630. Nice rim, but it’s the narrowest 27” rim I’ve seen! At 12mm internal and 19mm external width, it’s too small for my touring tyres. Ran pretty true on the wheel it came on, seems to have only very minor brake wear, a few nicks around the edge, slightly rusty eyelets, one very slight flat spot.
Bum-end:
19- Carrera saddle £3 – Fairly big and comfy (15cm wide), slight tear at the nose.
20- Kalloy suspension seatpost £3 – 27.2mm, 250mm from rails to minimum insertion mark. Recently stripped down, boings as it should.
21- Silver QR seatpost collar £Free/beerifyou’refeelingnice – internal diameter measured at 34mm, should stretch to 35.something or whatever the standard seat tube diameter is.
