The only thing debatable about spec wise is OMAP 4470 v. Tegra 3. The OMAP has higher memory throuhput and can do more floating point processeing per second than the Tegra 3. The proof will be when they are released though.
Other than that, the Kindle Fire HD beats the crap out of the N7. 32Gb ram (or 64Gb if you get the 4G version).
As for reading, I'm replacing my aging kindle 3g with a kindle paperwhite 3g I think.
I'm not sure why Amazon are not releasing the 8.9" tablet and the Paperwhite kindles in the UK. Seems silly.
