How hard is this for a novice? In terms of elevation and pace… I'd like to join :)
Hey as a relative newby myself my suggestion is to just turn up prepared; water/food and not half a ton of luggage. If it is too pacey there are ample places to bail and hit up a train station.
Have you ridden 100 miles before? 50 miles? Generally people are happy to wait for the guys at the back but it's your responsibility to get yourself home if need be!
