I did the Marmotte route minus l'Alpe d'Huez as part of a long weekend away a couple of months ago.
I was pretty out of shape at the time and would have really struggled with the Alpe as well. An amazing, beautiful days riding though - except for the boring drag from St Etienne (I think) to St Michel.
Fixed??! Sod that!
