After a few rides on the weekend I've realised I need a lot more bike time, but also I definitely need a compact crankset.
Currently I have a 6700 Ultegra. So a nice swap would be for a 6750 Ultegra.
But right now I've decided to prioritise practicality over looks. So I'll take any Shimano compact crankset that will fit a "Shimano Integrated Press Fit" - which I think is a BB86.
Or if anyone has the shims that would give me more choice that would be great too.
Probably BB86, which uses the same diameter and overall width as their HT2 external BB but with the bearings pressed straight into an oversized BB shell rather than separate screw in cups. In theory, I think you could use a standard SRAM GXP (not BB30) crankset using the same kind of shim that Chris King & Hope use to make their external cup BBs adapt from HT2 to GXP. KCNC K-type cranks should drop straight in in place of Shimano.
