Bit of a revelatory one for me just now. Heading down Lea Bridge rd on way back from a spin round Epping. I'm in left lane and doing about 25mph. Cabbie comes past me in right lane. I would have preferred more space tbh as I was passing parked cars and avoiding the door zone. I was just thinking how much more of his lane I should have taken when he drifted over into my lane (bus lane at this point) to avoid a queue forming infront of him. I'm braking for a set of lights anyway but have to brake harder not to become a passenger in his cab. He spots me as I arrive at his open window and I give it a moment. Usually at this point I'm embarrassed at the high pitched and ott noise I make and I've recently promised myself to count to ten before engaging the rage cannons. Before I get a word out he smiles at me. "Totally my fault mate! That was stupid sorry. I wasn't paying enough attention". I was totally disarmed. "It's ok mate, no harm done". Bit more chatty chat as we await the lights, a bit of after you sir as we pull away and a wave and a beep as we go our separate ways a few mins later. Amazing how a deep breath from me and him not being a total prick left us both feeling better about cabbies / cyclists as we went about our day.
I'd have been more miffed if I'd lost my teeth on his door mind you.
