With a light sprinkling of HTFU.

First put your head through the big bit at the bottom and out the small hole directly above it. Now here's the tricky bit, while pulling the garment over your body manoeuvre your arms through the holes two holes at the side and out of the sleeves. Be wary to put it on the right way round. It usually has a care instruction tag indicating the rear of the garment. Best of luck.

Sometimes I think this forum is unnecessarily harsh, but my god do some people ask for it.

Wear it with an insouciant panache - oh, hang on....

Well thanks lfgss, that was super fucking helpful.

Ask a silly question...
Yeah, wool jerseys are itchy, but they do get better with use, eventually. Don't use any fabric softeners on them though, it'll ruin the wicking properties. Merino wool is much less itchy. You could also wear a very light silk top underneath, which is incredibly comfortable.

Let me rephrase this.
Does anyone wear anything under their wool jersey?
-
• #11
Yes. I purchased a very nice woolen jersey last year and had the same itchy dilemma.
Solution was to cover my torso in a thick layer of vaseline before putting on said itchy jersey

I'm going to wear XH like a gilet to prevent wool-related chaffing.

Maybe you should start a thread asking how to prevent the sand in your vagina from being an irritant? -

I think it would best lying in a crumpled heap at the foot of my bed GRRRRRRR!

It wasn't really a cycling question though, was it?
It was a question about how to wear a jersey.
Anyway, I'm sure we'll soon forget all about this minor contretemps.
EDIT- you're not the "no show" arm wrestler are you?

Essential to have closely fitting shorts/trousers accompanying fitting wool jerseys.
Good luck escaping NewJersey in them. -

getoutofnj - I wear thin merino base-layers under everything, all year round.

Tom just keep wearing it and you'll get used to it and the itching will stop. Just be glad its not woolen underwear like here in Norway!
So I just bought this wool jersey off the forum and wore it home. Despite making me look like a wanna-be superhero, it fits well and is very warm.
My problem is that I don't understand how I'm going to wear it around. It seems like it's going to be way too itchy to wear on its own, but it was fine with a cotton tee shirt-- arguably defeating the wicking/drying properties. How do you guys wear these?
