Tandem Recommendations

I need a tandem for a bike ride to Belgium. Any recommendations. I don't want to spend tonnes of cash but would like to keep it under 3k. Dont mind second hand either

As for second-hand, the CTC forum features them reasonably frequently. You'll see Thorns, Mercians and Dawes on there. A quick search showed vintage, rohloff, road and MTB have been offered for sale, so depending on how fast you want it you'll probably have a decent choice.
