A cyclist is fighting for his life after crashing into a Ford Transit van.

The 46-year-old man, from Mayfield, East Sussex, was hit on the eastbound carriageway of the A27 in Fontwell, West Sussex, at the junction of Yapton Lane, by the white long wheelbase Ford Transit van at 7.25am today, Sussex Police said.

Really strange wording in the first citation. The terms "crashed into" and "was hit by" are complete opposites.
