'Jew's harp' may come from the French 'Jeu' abbreviation for toy, as it is a simple musical instrument making it suitable for children. Harmonicas are also called 'Harps' so 'Toy harp' would make sense for a simple reed-like mouth instument.
Either that or it's for anti-semitic racists...
