Ok, that matches up with the own brand stuff I've seen from that well know automotive spares and overpriced bike shop (I think we have the same one in mind!). The only ones I can see on there all say "for use after final layer of paint" or something, are those ok or should I look for ones which work outright?
How many cans did it take you to cover the entire bike? -

It'll be fine. They'll say that as it won't bond or grip to the bare metal as well as it would to layers of paint underneath.
I think I used 2 and a bit cans, I'd say 3 cans will be a good amount. Even coats. Be patient, take your time. Leave it for a while after spraying and before building to lengthen the hardening of the clear coat.

Cool, cheers for all of the help.
How many layers did you end up doing then? I think I'll do a couple, leave it for a few days then go back and do some more. I'm still waiting for a new bb to arrive so it's perfect timing to keep the bike unused and give it ample drying time. -

No worries!
I can't remember how many layers... It was quite a lot! Thin even coats are best, and a steady build up is best when spraying.
If you can hang the frame in some way it's a good move...I use a step ladder, a broom handle attached to the top, and the broom handle goes through the head tube.
Good luck!

I was thinking of using bungee lead through the head tube connected to a rotary clothes dryer but that seems a bit more simple, haha.
Cheers, I think I'll give it a go this weekend if I can find somehow to make space for the Nitromors, and if I can find a way to get my damn BB off (splines have all gone so is looking like I'm going to have to drill the damn thing out which is a shame)
Same with mine, black n silver bits with raw. Nice and simple.
It was in the 5-10 price range per can. I didn't look into prices just went and bought some, didn't realise the price goes up that high for clear lacquer!
