Sunday 9th September
There are two main workshops.
The Race Organiser and Volunteer Workshop In the morning.
Rider and Coach Workshop and training sessions. This runs all day. See below.
Those attending the organisers and Volunteers Workshop can then join in the rider session once their workshop has finished.
LOCATION – Icknield High School, Riddy Lane, Luton, LU3 2AL http://www.icknield.beds.sch.uk/contact.html
TIME – 9:30 meet for 10:00 workshop start. Finish and away by 3:30
COST –organizer/volunteer workshop free. Coaching workshop free to coaches, £5 fee for riders payable on the day (cash please for convenience)
FACILITIES – tea and coffee provided, bring your own lunch
RACE ORGANISER/VOLUNTEER WORKSHOP
RECOMENDED FOR – all race organisers, course setters and volunteers who want to improve their skills in a low stress training environment.
An opportunity to share experiences and build on the high standard achieved in the League. .
In the morning Organisers will get to review issues such as
Equipment provision – sharing, transporting, set up
How to make race day go smoothly – registration, event running order, gridding, prize structures, presentations, employing a professional organizing team etc
Race timing and results.
Followed by
Course design – a workshop in best practice and the chance to have a go at building a course to test your new ideas.
Volunteers (new and existing) will have their own workshop, focusing on skill sets. Enabling you to run your events with improved confidence on race day. This will be followed by an opportunity to have a go with a live event, held in the afternoon with riders from the ‘rider training day’.

Riders and Coaches are invited to attend a COACHING MASTERCLASS
with Mick Bell, Cyclo-Cross Coach and 2012 Vets National Champion
Open to all Cyclo-Cross riders from beginner to elite.
Morning workshop will include programming your training,
strategies, Q & A with expert riders.
Practical sessions include specific skills, ie
starts, off camber riding, run ups, hurdles, pit drills, and lots more.
Final session ‘Urban Cross Race’
CPD for Coaches
Riders and coaches from other regions welcome.
Bring – bike, helmet, change of clothing for pm sessions
Dress for the weather.
A small number of loan Cyclo-Cross bikes will be available.
