I guess so. Going to be used on the road and for touring, not CX. There's not really any difference between 52/38 and 53/39 is there?

It's just high gearing for anything other than short racing (at a high level). You might spend a lot of time with an iffy chainline, riding all over your lower cogs on the flat, something I'd consider when buying a new chainset or rings. I ride with 52/39 currently but it's not really ideal.
