Posting here on the offchance...I wonder if you could help me out with something, my girlfriend, who is from Serbia, is on the lookout for work experience/internships. If you hear of anything, anything whatsoever, even a few days at a desk near someone in a finance role, I would be extremely grateful if you could let me know / keep her in mind. She has a distinction in Bachelor in Finance and and graduated last month with an MBA as well.

I'm after a Drupal developer to do some bits and bobs on a charity website, including setting up an appeal page which integrates with smartdebit (our regular donate form already does this so it shouldn't be massively complicated). PM if you're interested or can recommend anyone.

Urgent: looking for motivated, technically savvy person(s) to carry out a week or two's software testing. You need an amazing attention to detail and outrageously personal high standards of work. You will be working a part of a team, but the tasks themselves will be your sole responsibility. You need to be articulate, analytical, reliable, work fast and smart and willing to get your hands dirty. If you get bored and distracted easily you should not apply.
You'll be working for a tech startup, which means shoreditch. Pay is @ intern rates as this is an intern role, though there is a possibility after a few weeks to discuss a longer-term relationship and more ££ if it's working out.
You will not need experience in software testing but I will ask you to pass some basic aptitude tests and you will be expected to have an interest in developing a career in software engineering /testing. Any experience of finance will help you but is not mandatory. You need to be available from Monday for at least one month and free to meet up between now and then.
If you have questions then fire me a pm. If you're interested in working for us, then pm me your LinkedIn deets and a contact number.

Hello all, got a job vacancy in the cave, sticking an ad up on Gumtree but thought someone here might benefit from this.
If you don't know, we are a shop and website (vintagebikecave.com) based in Highgate, North London. We sell vintage bicycles and parts to customers all over the world as well as building everything from retro bikes to bespoke fixies.
We have a vacancy for someone to work between 2 and 5 days a week depending on what you can commit to.
Duties would include listing products for sale on both the website and ebay, processing customer orders, dealing with telephone enquiries, handing shipping for orders, updating the blog and other general office duties.Salary is dependent on age and experience and lies within UK min wage brackets.
This role would prove challenging for someone without a knowledge of bicycle parts. A large part of this role involves describing items for sale. You don't need to know every part ever made, but as a simple test, if you can point to any part of a bicycle and describe it – make, model condition etc.. then you would be in good stead to apply.
Alternatively, if you feel confident that you can take instructions regarding how to photograph an item and feel you are able to accurately describe the condition in a way that will not prove a surprise to the customer, please feel free to apply.
Bicycle knowledge can be taught but common sense cannot! We welcome applicants from all age groups so don't let that hold you back!
Required skills:
Computer literate and able to grasp new things quickly and easily
Moderate to high typing speed with good spelling and punctuation.
Able to use ebay for sellingDesirable skills:
Some degree of bicycle related knowledge.
Knowledge of WordPress based websites.
Competent user of Twitter, Facebook etc..
Competent photographer (can use initiative when photographing something).
Confident telephone manner.Benefits:
Discount on bicycle parts, services and repairs.
Unlimited tea, coffee and biscuits.
Good, friendly tight-knit environment. If you feel like this is a position that you would be well suited to and would like to apply, please send an email to info@vintagebikecave.com with a brief bit about yourself and what you can offer.
Cheers!
Jake

Just to advise, someone off the forum had a previous job just like that there, and was 'let go' for not much reason. that was a while a go though.
-
• #1300
Hi Laner,
That must have been a while ago because I've been here for over a year now (before which there was no website to add products to) and that hasn't happened in my time.
The only reason you'd be 'let go' is if you didn't do your job properly - the same as with any other job.
Please don't be put off by this comment, it's a great place to work and a great atmosphere which you'll know if you've visited.
How good is her english? She have a C.V?
I'm still looking for a marketing executive. Surely there's some bright young things?!
