Aha, well I have serial JV15712 right here which is August 1982, it's the one on the right below (shit pic, sorry).

The one on the left is exactly like yours, I've had it 20 years, it's a late '82.

My guess yours is about April/May/June 1982, just pop that neck and you'll find out. A very cool JV P-bass you have there.

There are both awesome btw. Love the gold anodised alu pickguards. Looks great with sunburst and a naturally aged neck.
