central????????
The term is "central London" or "the centre of town" or "up west". One can also use "the West End" of "The City" as appropriate.
"Central" is a district of Hong Kong.
we also have mid town for the bit between city and west end, that could also be called central if you were suitably hipster.

Spotted a girl at the bottom of Kensington High St on a pink conversion, with one of those horse-riding bicycle helmets, trackstanding like a pro. Kudos to you, young lady.

"midtown" is an estate agent's phrase from the 1980s which sought to rename the area known otherwise as Holborn.
The wonderful thing about London is that all the places within it were named as they developed. No need to rename thenm now. One name for each place and we all know where we are talking about.
Hipsters are allowed to rename anywhere, of course, as no one needs to know nor does anyone care what they are talking about.

Good to see you, did you have to wait long?
Nope, I bunged the doxy and we walked up about 10 minutes after we saw you.
Actually we didn't. We waited about half and hour longer.

Sparky on his sit-up-and-beg custom roadie heading toward central from Tooting.
Sit up and beg?! Was I not aerodynamically hunched down like a slightly-more-limber Bradley Wiggins? No? Oh well.
I was off to Clapham to pick up a friend then cycle to Brighton. Now I'm all sore and at my desk for a late shift.

I didn't cycle to work today because I have to go and meet MrsO afterwards and so was melancholically walking from the tube towards my office when all of a sudden my day became bright with the sight of the delightful MrsSocks on her bicycle. It was a pleasure and a joy to speak to you.
Lovely to chat to you too! You were lucky, I had almost woken up by then... haha.

Cupcakes spotted by my missus on roseberry avenue. I haven't taught her to DAS yet.
He's so rad. Used to work in the building next to me, the dachshund always looked so happy ears flapping in the wind.
