Sorry to hijack a thread ( and resurrect an old one!) but I haven't served me 24 hours yet!
I really want to own a single speed and think the cheapest way (I am on a strict budget) is to pick up an old road bike and convert that.
Apart from eBay and here is there anywhere else I can look? I see you guys think that gumtree is a bit iffy, but I'm really hoping to pick one up for around £40 (complete) and I don't mind if it needs some tlc.
