Without resorting to violence, the best response to thieves is to not change your behaviour a jot. You have a nice bike stolen? Get another. Don't deny yourself. I've had several stolen over the years, and yes it's crushing. But you get another. The pleasure I get from a build, then enjoying the bike, far outweighs the slump if one goes walking, despite the immediate pain it causes. But you pick yourself up by replacing it. Unlike a lock, that's a constant will which cannot be broken. Fuck you. You've made your few quid, but you're the one who is trapped. That burden is not mine.
