  • Looking for folks to ride with locally now the lighter evenings are upon us...

  • This is useless to you, but I'm from Northwich, and go back every few months.

I love being back there, great riding around the Cheshire Plain, the forest and so on. Next time I'm back for a decent amount of time I'm going to head out to Parkgate and the Wirral. I'm jealous of you being up there in some ways.

  • It is indeed a beautiful part of the world, and there's plenty to explore.

  • Post here http://www.lfgss.com/thread11594.html
Perhaps a meet up half way?\
Come to Sefton park for the racing...

  • Hey dude.. I'm based in Chester next to the station :)

  • any contact info for the lad?

or point him this way :)

  • My dad lives just across the border in Wales. I should be around there around Christmas/New Year for a few days at least. If I bring my bike with me I'd be up for a ride.

  • old thread but yes im in chester. i ride unsocial times as i have young family but can manage maybe 1 eve ride or early am ride before work. typical circuit. chester rowton holt rosset bwlch llandegla penyford broughton chester. longer circuit take in ruabon llangollen or corwen 2.5-4 hrs on 48-14(some red line climbs there) would welcome company

  • I'm moving back to the UK on March 31st. My time will be split between North Wales and Cornwall. I'll ride with you at some point if you like (not fixed though).

  • 48-14 is a high gear for anywhere but the track, round the hills of North Wales it's crazy. I can't wait to come back at Easter, I think I'm going to drive to North Wales and hit some of the roads near Bala which I used to love driving on.

  • I'd be up for some Snowdonia exploration after Easter, possibly.

  • I live in Chester on lightfoot street. I ride 46-14. Like long distance. Recently rode from Belfast to Paris last year on fixed with my friends who set up fellowbicycleco.com. Message me if you fancy getting out for a spin or a pint.

  • I'm from Chester and ride back there from Manchester fairly often.

  • Cool man. Message me if you want to meet up etc.

Do you have you route online somewhere? I'd like to see how I could join it from between Northwich and Warrington to get into Manchester.

  • I just ride straight down the A56 from Manchester all the way in to Chester.

I'm sure there are more pleasant longer, less busy roads to take but I'm not usually doing it for a leisure ride, just avoiding train fares.

  • Actually that doesn't look as bad as it could be, I could only really think of the A556 and that would be really unpleasant. Your route includes Frodsham, childhood home of Daniel Craig, it can't be bad.

Yeah it's mainly okay, theres a few sketchy roundabouts but on the whole its fairly pleasant. It's slightly downhill the whole way too which is a bonus going to chester, not so great going back to Manchester though.

  • Any decent pubs recommended? will have a few hours to kill on the 10th June

  • -Telfords Warehouse, down by the canal. It's my favourite place to go in Chester. Nice outdoor area so you can keep your bike close.

    • The Boot, proper old man pub, some right characters in there, not as bike friendly though as it's up on the rows.

-The Boathouse, down by the river, fairly average normal pub but it's right on the river so nice views if it's a sunny day.

-The Old Harkers, next to the canal and near the train station, nice ales ... and unless they've changed the policy since I moved away no kids allowed, which is great.
