Please certify a copy of my passport

I would like to apply for some open university funding but need someone to certify a copy of my passport in order to prove I'm a british citizen on order to qualify (post office identity checking service isn't accepted). I've left it really late and need to get it done asap but unfortunately don't know anyone who is a -

Consular official, local government official, minister of religion, social worker, medical doctor, prison officer, lawyer, probation officer, permanent civil servant, justice of the peace, teacher (active od retired), commissioned officer of the armed forces (active or retired), police officer (active or retired).

Is there anyone who lives broadway marketish (evening), or around Clerkewell in the day who would be able to kindly do this for me.
Or has any ideas how I could get this done, it would be muchly appreciated.

I got my optician to do mine.

Really!? I don't understand which category an optician fits into.
But, amazing if I can, although I'm feeling the poor optician is going to give me a very confused expression when I ask!

you need to find someone with Notary Public status, this includes some legal professionals and JPs

they can certify documents

I've done it before as a Chartered Accountant.

You should be able to do it at your bank. Technically they are supposed to do notary public work since you are on their certified record and also have a signature sample

certifying signatures on contracts requires notaries public - certifying true likeness of photo or passport copy doesn't, i think , and anyone of standing (ie member of professional body etc) can do so.

Any further ideas on this?

I tried going to a police station on my way home from work, but apparently the police aren't allowed to certify your documents unless they've know you for 2 years (argghhh).

meh I need this done as well for my Irish passport... pain in the arse
