  • Jadias, it definitely is not an instant results camera, in my experience. I really struggled with it for the first few weeks, particularly when trying to shoot it like my Nikon DSLRs. I have had much better results since shooting it fully manual (bar autofocus) - including no auto ISO and no auto DR. In aperture priority (my go-to shooting mode) I found it has a tendency to over-expose. In manual, by riding the exposure triangle and watching the meter (which also seems a bit more skittish than my D700) I am getting far better results.

Interesting. It seems most people trust the auto ISO and DR (mainly because it's so good down to ISO3200) so I've gone with them so far, except when shooting at night. I've been using mainly Aperture Priority mode but will kick it into full manual when needed. It definitely has a tendency to over-expose - my exposure compensation is almost always set to about -2/3.

It definitely seems to come into its own when you can take the time to fully compose a shot (and, currently, bracket a lot!). That said, the quicker shots I took - the lizard, say - came out very well too. I've seen some stunning street photography out of if, too.
