I am using a cut down toe strap as a replacement for the seat post tie. It might work for you as well?

(ps ot: I bookmarked a load of edits for Panton blues on my Kindle but cannot figure out to export them. really sorry dude.)

no worries! I'll try that toes trap tip - I've got a couple in the spares box.
