Pretty sure they sell SE lager cheaper than the new create, at least it is in putney

Halfords price match? If they do you, could get something they advertise higher

Cheers for the suggestion! I can't find it on the Halfords site though, do you have a link?

Just persuade your campany to use the independent one too, can;t remember what its called now. I got a company I used to work for to use a new voucher scheme (they were with Evans so I asked them nicely - then never even bought a bike on the ride to work.).

just get a crate instead...drink some sense into him/her ffs
-

Yeah, I don't know how likely it is that I'll convince them to make a less terrible cycle to work scheme, it's my second job, I only work there 15 hours a week and started less than a month ago, ha ha.

Halfords promise to source any bike you want for C2W, just tell them what you want and make them find it.

That's banging! I'll go chase them up on that.

SE draft/draft lite.

they're crap
the chain will break
your friend will fall off
they'll loose some front teeth
dentistry is more expensive than getting a decent bike
BUY A DECENT BIKE -

don't bother with a draft lite either, I paid £180 for mine (evans sale) and killed it in 7 months. complete frame failure around bb shell.
with the warranty replacement the only thing left stock apart from the frame was the headset and seatpost clamp. that too died as soon as I got hit by a van as well.
the surly steamroller complete is <£500 at charlie the bikemonger, perhaps you can wangle a price match through halfords.

Halfords will order in pretty much anything you want. Tons of decent stuff out there under £500.

Pearson Cycles (Sutton), Edwardes (Camberwell) and Condor all accept the Halfords cycle to work vouchers along with many other shops around the country. (Condor do charge a 5% levy though but the other 2 I listed don't)

is a create £500 knicker these days ?

I say let them get it and learn the hard way: through rapid deterioration and the mocking sneers of the fixed gear community,
This guy I work with is getting a new bike with our cycle to work scheme and he wants to get a create.... The main problem is that for some reason the only company we can buy bikes from under the scheme is Halfords. Does anyone have any suggestions for a decent singlespeed for <£500 from Halfords?
