• Does this solution not mean that the brake cable is tightened slightly when you turn the wheel?

    Does your stem turn relative to your front wheel? If it does, you have bigger problems to tackle than inadvertent brake actuation. If you'd stood back and thought for a minute, you wouldn't have had to dredge this thread :-)

    Also, while I'm here, the actual correct place for the cable hanger with cantilevers is mounted on the fork crown, as this takes the steerer out of the load path entirely and make brake chatter all but impossible.
