I had a car door opened on me fully the other week. I was probably doing 15-20mph overtaking a parked car when the driver swung his door open FAST and full. No time to brake or swerve and so I hit the inside of his door flush, with my chest. Massive bruising.
His response was "Holy sh!t dude, how fast were you going?", to which I asked if he was blaming me, which he was. :O
He just didn't look in his mirrors, the turnip. It resulted in him have one hell of a bent door on his new car.
In a Thundercats style ending, I suppose the message to this story is to try and give more than a doors width when overtaking cars, even if it means holding up traffic. I also look to see if there's anyone in the car beforehand. It amazes me how many people see you coming and still have their door open.
