  • Hello!

    Jordan from BIGxTOP back again,

Have just released the first full size bag, rather than flooding the post with photos, check out the full set right here, http://www.bigxtop.com/2012/08/01/mini-messenger-final-shots/

And here's the blurb from the product listing:

'*'Roll Top' construction. Whilst this bag is compact, it scales up to carry more. Another added bonus is that this method adds to weatherproofing the bag. You can also use the external straps as 'tie downs' for other kit such as a polo mallet or a small tripod.

Padded back and shoulder strap. Even at the smaller scale bags, you dont want anything poking in your back or digging into your shoulder. Fully reversible for left and right shoulder orientation, including sternum strap.

1000d Nylon outer, 10oz 'Truck Tarp' floating inner liner.

Front quick access pouch, Also weatherproof. Multi Layer construction on the bottom to help with protection when setting the bag down.

    Measures 50x25x14cm when closed.*

Thanks guys, they're 70 each and a fiver to post within the UK, 7 pounds for europe.

For more info, just message me or go straight through the store at http://www.bigxtop.com/products/mini-messenger

  • Good luck. Your stuff is quality

  • Thank you kindly!

  • v. nice!
    forum discount?

  • I'd buy one of these with a forum discount.

  • Sadly they've been priced as lowly as can be, so more people can afford a British made product. The materials have been meticulously chosen and aren't bought in the thousands of metres like the mass produced stuff in china. In fact, a good deal of the materials are made over here too, such as the liner and the webbing.

    Thanks for looking chaps/chapettes!

  • Bump for a lovely looking product.

  • i'd like to give a massive thumbs up to this bag and to jordan himself.

i enquired moons ago when he first popped some shots of the bag up on his site if it were possible to get one as i had a amsterdam cycle trip planned and wanted a small but functional bag to take with me.

with the final design and release date not even confirmed jordan went out of his way to get me one of his bags for my trip.

it was/is a pre-release so differs slightly in the final design but is pretty much the same bag.

it ticks all the boxes, it's the right size, it fits and adjusts well, it's well made, it's comfortable, it looks good and it's black.

    win all round.

i've been using it everyday for 3 months now and no other bag gets a look in.

thanks to jordan for some great customer service and a great bag!

These are very handy for track riders to carry all their gear around in, but just too costly. It's a pity there are no other manufacturer's of Keirin Tote Bags.

    Just saying.

  • These look brilliant. Im very tempted indeed.

  • Those totes look great, not quite the same thing as what's being offered here. You got a super comfy padded commuter bag, not professing to be for carrying a catalogue of tools and parts.

Thank you for the kind words skive!

  • Just ordered mine!

    Stoked!!

  • Recieved, will go out tomorrow morn! Thank you

  • want one of these bad.. should probably wait 'till payday..

    Likewise! Must...keep...credit....card...in wallet...until...payday.

  • have another Bump Jordan,

Your hip pouch is quality and still going strong.

I'll be ordering one of these later today/tomorrow

  • also, is there anywhere to clip keys on the strap?

    This

  • Will these bags fit LPs in them?

  • also, is there anywhere to clip keys on the strap?

You can clip onto where the female buckle is for the cross strap on the main strap, but there's not a dedicated D-Loop. There however will be one on the soon to come mobile/cell pouch ;-)

Will these bags fit LPs in them?

A 12" record? The dimensions rolled down are 50x25x14cm, so height might be an issue but should fit at a push. However if carrying records is the sole purpose of the bag, I'd suggest something more directed at that sort of thing!

Already incredibly cheap, esp when compared with comparable bags sold on here.

I'll pick one of these up on payday also, loving the BigxTop stuff.

  • Looks worth every penny to me.

A geeky question - whats the capacity roughly in volume/litres?
I only ask because thats what my current bag is measured in.

It's not the sole purpose, but useful as I sometimes ride places with them.

They look like great bags and made in Britain is always nice : )

17.5 Litres when closed, but theres more capacity when it's not fully rolled of course :). I've had some 20-25L hiking bags in the past at this feels like it can take a little more despite the dimensions. It's designed for commuting for those dudes who find standard messengers (often aimed at messengers) to be oversized.

  • do you plan to make a bigger version? say 25L ?
