  • Well, here she is - rides like a dream (the nice sort of dream!).

Completely refurbished frame I bought from the forum via a wanted ad from nstr_bangor. Built it with mostly modern kit - Ultegra 6600 groupset, 3TTT stem and Ergo Power Due bars, Shimano 600 aero seatpost, Rolls saddle. Wheels are Dura-Ace hubs laced to Ambrosio Nemesis (La Reine duNord) rims with DT revolution spokes and sexy gold nipples. Vittoria Corsa Evo CX tubs.

I did think of building with period correct groupset etc, but in the end decided that modern rideability meant more to me than having a completely retro bike for nice sunny days...

  • That is truly beautiful. A small voice inside me has always been telling me to swap my modern roadie for a classic steel framed fast machine. This is very inspirational! Campag may have looked more fitting, but Shimano usually wins in terms or performance for money, very wise choice. I have seen too many people with sparkely Veloce dropping chains and thubbing shifts.

  • Congratulations. This is art. I never thought I'd like it so much with modern Shimano. Very refined, both in looks and function. I know the tendency is to go Campag on italian bikes, but I think anything would look good on that frame, plus shimano is soo smooth! Loving those blue cable ends too!!

  • Beautiful!

  • Thanks! I used blue cable ends to echo the blue bits in the Masi logo on the downtube...

  • Very nice, but not a current project. Bike is finished so belongs in names and faces does it not? Yes, I realise this is nitpicking.
