The vet told me to give my cat a good chunk (mouse sized) piece of raw chicken a week, sometimes two. It's hard chewing work and helps clean their teeth so helps prevent gum disease. He had gingivitis at the time and it cleared up really quickly.
Considering how expensive my last cats teeth ended up being I'm going to stick to the raw chicken thing, although slightly less frequently than suggested - he is very partial to mice and the odd bird here and there.This..

I quite often buy lambs hearts that have been reduced in tesco. Three for less than a pound. The cats and dog LOVE it. It has lots of chewy grizzly bits to give their teeth and gums a good work out. Thinking of getting a mincer/blender thingy to chop up chicken wings so I can include bone as well as meat.

^^^ Cats that sleep in a bed specifically bought for them :-O
They'll soon grow out of that! I have several carefully selected comfortable beds set up for Chester in my bedroom.
He likes nothing more than sleeping on a plastic carrier bag!
Or my pillow :-(

Cut its head off and use a melon baller to scoop out the mucus-bound hairy filth.
EDIT: as a method of ridding furballs.

The bag looks familiar Clefty. Is it a Coles or Woolworths bag from Australia?
-
• #3614
cats averaged about one kill for every 17 hours outdoors or 2.1 kills per week
So, we have a baseline average...

It is indeed a Woolies bag - I had no idea, my mum gave it to me, christ knows where she got it, she's barely left Lewisham for the past 10 years.

Don't think so cos you can eat beef raw or lightly cooked (steak tartare, rare etc.) Don't know of any similar pork dishes...
Late to the raw party, but: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mett

17hr to catch a mouse... must be for city cats. out here I'm only guessing "The Duckinator" is doing severe damages to the Tottenham Marsh rodent population.
dunno about cats - but the raw meat of choice for dogs is raw chicken wings (bone IN) as its only when cooked that the bones become brittle and splinter as dogs are designed to eat raw meat and bones
