No. The Cosmic Elite is essentially the same as an Ellipse but with a QR and msw, but there's no problem using Ellipses with brakes and just letting your brake pads machine the side wall.

With the LOOK and eclipses I think velo flex masters would look good.

I have Veloflex Corsa (all black) on mine; not a fan of tan walls on black rims.
