Unfortunately having multiple friends (and myself) experience wheel theft I don't think track nuts are any safer. It's just that not locking up quick release wheels is *completely * mental, as opposed to not locking up track wheels which simply tempts fate
Agreed... marginally safer in that the tea leaf can't remove tightened nuts with their bare hands, but a bike thief without a spanner is like an artist without a pencil.
People think I'm OTT for carrying around a Krypto D and an abus chain for a beater but this is why... (it's not the first time). I've forgotten the chain a few times recently and got away with it, so I thought I might be ok to go for a quick pint - alas.
there was a pretty nice bike (ie, nicer than mine) sitting 10 feet away when I left, wheels exposed. I hope that guy got away with it.
