Bike hub is the best one IMHO. Free.

Navigation our gps speed/position recording? Strava is awesome for the latter. You can compare your rides with other users. Racing against each other on segments, lots of fun.

1 - bikehub, follows quieter roads, cycle paths etc, i think it knows the national cycle routes but I've only used it a couple of times, it was excellent on both occasions.
2 - Waze, likes busy fast roads, great in the car but less so on the bike, though it is now programmable to avoid some routes
3 - strava is kinda fun as above
4 - endomondo - good to track your route so you can return to your start point easily, handy on mtb in forest if you're lost. ahem... -

Was using Endomondo which is rather good, but Strava if you want to beat your mates or race against people (you don't know) local to you

I use Cyclemeter for most rides - you can set out the dashboard to show what info you want/need and also import rides from elsewhere - gpx, tcx files etc - and then follow a 'breadcrumb' trail in the map mode. Supposedly it can sync with heart rate monitors and cadence etc but I've never tried it. Export it all to strava later if you wish..

Run google mytracks for routes (and used to be able to run navigation in background but with now can't do that on ICS?), but seen a few people using strava and prefer how that works (or the old mytracks back please!)
What apps are you using for cycle navigation? i will be doing some long rides soon and want to find a good app for this on my iPhone.
