For Sale: "Toxteth" track, KHS Aero, FIR ARIA&Rialto, Alpina track fork, Campag Veloce CT UT

I’ve ventured into a semester’s of internship in Berlin, and therefor I’ld like to make some moneyz to aid in my livelihood there.
Items are at my mum’s in metropolitan Oosterhout, the Netherlands. All already boxed up, with homemade sturdy dropoutprotectors and insulation tubing, ready to be shipped to your door. Prices include shipping costs.

1) ‘70s “Toxteth” track f+f from Oz, 54,5 c-c, 56 c-t seattube, 56 cm c-c toptube, 531 Reynolds tubing. Nice shiny blue, quite hard to get the colour right on my (phone) camera.

AFAIK this was brought to London by forum po-lice hippy from Australia where it was built. It is believed to be late seventies. I bought it from benjybars all stickered up and named “toxteth”, Brixton’s most famous non-existent frame builder. I removed the stickers with stickerremover, old phone card and hairdryer and it now looks nice ‘n’ clean. Really happy when I got it, got offered a Gazelle track, succumbed to that, this hung around doing nuttin’ which is a shame.

British threads all around, very nice 26.8mm Gipiemme Sprint seatpost is included. Campagnolo ends and nice clearances. Lugs are very nice and ornate, nice wrapover seatstay, double fork crown is double supercool. Some small touchups, but nothing obtrusive. Standard 100mm front, 120mm rear.

**2) ’94 KHS (which is an abbrevation “for the schoolchildren” or something ridiculous in Taiwanese) Aero Comp f+f, **55 c-t seattube, 55 cm c-c toptube, True Temper AVR aero and directionally twisted tubing. A very nice deep “go faster” red and great decals.

I bought this 2,5 years ago from Tel on here. It was my first “proper” conversion, as in, I put a lot of effort in the build. Had the idea briefly to fit trackends but priorities have shifted and it must go.
Comes with 26.8 Campagnolo aero seatpost and a thirsty Shimano 600 headset. The twisted toptube, bent seattube and aero downtube are nice features. True Temper is American tubing, Kamaguchi also mostly uses True Temper.
British threads all around. Comes with 26.8 Campagnolo aero seatpost and a thirsty Shimano 600 headset. Standard 100mm front, 130mm rear OLN. Lugless, not fillet brazed, so TIGed?
Cosmetically it has it’s flaws though: chips on fork, seattube, on the BB and stays from a chain coming loose and some scratches on the seattube from locking up and use. All is pictured in the extra pictures.

[s]2.1) FIR Rialto 18h front wheel, 700c, Miche 36h lf track hub, 40mm high aero profile rim, 100mm OLN~~~~

As earlier seen on the KHS build. Miche lf fortunately had the same dimensions like the OG Fir hub, so I got me a Miche one, slotted it with special files to accept the OG aero spokes, rebuilt it. It is sound, although every now and then a springy sound comes from the spokes when riding. It didn’t bother me, rim is bombproof.
Braking surface still good, loads of miles in it. Hub still spin very nice, I believe general disgust for Miche excludes the lf ones, for reasons unknown. It served me well.
I haven’t packed this one, but could ask my mum to heavily bubblewrap it and stick it in either frame box, saving postage costs.
I will be back in a couple a weeks and could arrange single postage, PM if that is what you want and we’ll figure summit out.

3) black FIR ARIA wheelset, 700c, FIR hubs, 40mm high, 18 spokes front, 24 rear, busted Shimano(?) freehub

I bought these wheels like this to rebuild to 8-speed Campagnolo. Got 10-speed instead, wheelset went dormant. I’m not sure if the freehub is fixable. Freehub, springs, bearings etc all included for the technically more gifted peoples. Front needs a service. XH on here has a 24h Hope rearhub for 8-s Campag available which could be a solution.
Rims don’t have a machined braking surface, but previous use has created that. Still loads and loads of life left in the rim walls. 40mm Aero rim profile is very nice, they’re a bit Vento/Shamal spoofs. One scrape which I’ve sharpied in and cool “made in Italy” badges included.

4) drilled (!) Alpina 1 1/8” track forks (30mm rake) with 183mm alu steerer

I drilled these forks myself on a pillar drill with supervision by professionals. I got them with a now long gone Track Champion but I don’t do brakeless. After uhmming and ahhhing and advice from here by people who already did it and didn’t suffer problems I decided it was a go.

The fork crown is alu, so structurally sound to drill. When drilling I pushed out a steel bolt which was in place of where normally the brake bolt would be. I unscrewed the bolt manually and used that as a guidance to drill it to size. Drilling is not entirely dead center though, but it worked well enough.

I want to stress that usage is on your own risk, I risk-assessed brakeless vs possible fork failure in favour of the second, but will not be liable if it does fail. Which I am certain it won’t, but just to set things straight.

Only small cosmetic marks on one fork leg sharpied in. It still is in very good nick, only ridden the Track Champion briefly because I decided alu was a failed experiment.

5) Campagnolo Veloce Compact 50/34 Ultra Torque (superior to nowadays Power Torque) chainset, 172.5mm, British cups

Ridden by me to France and a bit in some hills here in South Holland for about 2000km.. Some cosmetic damage on mostly the driveside arm. Bearings, chainrings and teeth (although I could’ve cleaned them betterer), threads all still good and all necessary stuff included. Nice chainset, just no use for it anymore after purchase of triple. I’m a spinny weak chap indeed.

6) Cannondale Killer V500, 17” frame (IIRC), 26” wheels

I’m also planning on selling this. It’s not yet boxed, but if anyone is interested do give a shout an we could work something out. Frame is still in supersuper nick. Signature Cannondale smooth welds and Warning stickers, super nice wishbone. It now has a rigid steel Spinner fork mounted, but came with a RockShox Magnesium suspension fork which lost most of it’s puff and would need to be resuscitated. I’ve been told these were the shit back in the day and they’ld be licking their lips over at Retrobike. Which of course could be totally incorrect but I seem to remember tester saying that so then it is the total truth.

You are indeed correct. I've looked up the old ad and it was Merseyside's most famous non-existing frame builder.. Liverpool it is, not Croydon.

I am in Berlin. Stuff is in Oosterhout, my mum agreed to be home when the courier comes by to pick up the stuffs.. I just hadn't time to get a sales thread up and arrange collection before I left, so this is the solution.
