^There is a thread somewhere about that happening. Apparently the thief was having convulsions, wasn't too pretty.

note: also seen some dodgy activity on the street market by The Haggerston pub on Kingsland Road

The Haggerston pub area is a known crime hot spot.

Also the pub itself. How much for a pint!?

silly money, but they accept hipster tokens too

Ironically years ago cycle couriers specifically chose single fixed gear track bikes as these were the least likely to get stolen. Now due to the popularity of such bikes these are also a prime target.
Gosh. I do not think anybody on this site knew that. Time to move to MTBs with aero bars.

wtf???? they were just some cheap green bmx gripsI was sitting outside at the cafe next to Vaidas bikes in Honor Oak the other day when two dodgy looking guys roll up wanting to know what we think one of their road bikes is worth, even though he had 'just bought it cos I fancied a change innit'. Update on my missing Giant, good as long gone!
Just recieved a phone call from the police stating that from all the cameras at the location of 'Convent Gardens' they do not have any clear CCTV footage of that area, and even if they did the camers at the ROYAL OPERA HOUSE are too poor to recongise any faces or people taking things, from the officer on the phone, she says that the cameras in the area would barely pick out the outline of a vehicle...
Just more great news in my life these days...
RIP Giant Omnium. (May 2012- July 2012)

Quick update on my girlfriend's red Battaglin stolen Sunday (outside Hoxton)..
A nice fellow who saw my post pm'd me yesterday to say he spotted a guy selling this very bike for £60 on Sunday - white guy, mid-late 50s, 5"8/9, by the market stalls at the back of the carpark, south of Sclater Street, off Brick Lane, only an hour after it was nicked.
Unlikely it'll still be there this weekend at that price, but I'm gonna go take a look.
For those that care, the Battaglin was tied by two cables (one kryptonite, one oxford, though that matters not) to my kryptonite fahgeddaboudit d-lock, which in turn locked my bike to a bike hoop. Snipped right through both cables, took hers, left mine obviously. I know, i know ;)
Shameless re-posting of pic, spotters badges available!

Garden Shears.
No idea why they sell cables with d-locks.

My beloved Peugeot racer was stolen from Columbia Road E2 on Sunday - just outside the Globe. It was only left for an hour and the buggars cut straight through my armoured cable lock. Since the attached picture was taken I have replaced the tires. They are now black with white rims. I had a scan round Brick Lane and Hackney straight after it happened but so far it hasn't surfaced. My friend amazingly recovered her wheels when they were nicked thanks to the watchful eyes of people in this forum. Please help me track my bike down!

Sorry to hear this. It's good to share your locking method on here so people can take note of what works and what doesn't. -

No track bikes turned up for sale in the usual spots in SE8 today. Sorry mate.
One of the main reasons I'm working from home today was to get down there early.

Ok ladies and gents, I think it's time to post a reward for my girlfriend's red Battaglin.
£50 to whoever can provide a solid lead to its whereabouts - locked up somewhere, seen going into someone's house - which results in me being reunited with it (I'll take care of that)
£60 to the person who inadvertently bought it from the guy at Brick Lane, and can return it to me. No questions asked. Benefit of the doubt and all!
I'm a man of my word, so please spread the word ;)
Cheers
Nick

Cycled past this today on Kilburn high street, the missing seat gave me negative vibes, apologies if this is you and you just had your seat nicked! If it is dodgy, I have another photo with faces.
