Frame; 1989 RIH-sport pursuit frame. I 'found' the frame several years ago in the US. I do recall
it being sold earlier on Ebay (2009) for $1350 (frame + fork). With a cracked top tube that was..
The bike was build for a Dutch team rider for the 1990 World championships in Japan, but has
been used on numerous track events afterwards. I've been told about 15 RIH pursuit frames
have been build.
It had had its top tube replaced and it's been repainted afterwards by Wim vd Kaaij (builder at RIH)
who quit working at the beloved store in the Westerstraat last May.. This has been one of the last bikes
he worked on. The frame has the tiniest of wobbles in the down tube (it apparently crashed at some
point causing the crack and the wobble), but I've been guaranteed by Mr. van der Kaaij that it's
straight and (race/) rideable!! It has been outside once after it was finished, for the RIH tribute
ride (10 kilometres) over the Amsterdam canals (there are pictures of this!). So it looks like brand
new. Got a couple (2/3) of tiny scratches from the installation of parts.
Rear wheel; Campagnolo Ghibli 700c - not 100% straight but rideable for sure -
WCS colors painted on non-drive side, see pictures. Front wheel; Campagnolo Ghibli 650c - Great condition Tires; Vittoria CX tubus - front is great/nos, rear doesn't inflate.. (not glued on the wheels yet) Bottom bracket; Campagnolo C-record 68mm SPc - great condition Head-set; Campagnolo C-record - great condition (apart from the lock nut which is scratched) Crank-set; Campagnolo C-record Pista - 2nd gen lasered logo - correct chainring/bolts - good condition Pedals; Campagnolo C-record Pista - bit scratched but overall good - good (correct) toe-clips Toe-straps; Campagnolo record - Not the c-rec ones (white logo) but the ones with the blue logos (matching ;)) Cog; Campagnolo 14t - great condition Lockring; Campagnolo Pista - NOS (before that one ride) Chain; Velo - french pista chain - beautiful looking Seat post; Campagnolo C-record - good condition - could do with a polish Saddle; Selle Italia leather version - hard to come by - normally you'd see the lycra version - NOS before ride Stem; Cinelli 1A 100mm - great condition - no logo (might have been polished off) but never seen before Handle bars; Cinelli LA84 - been cut to appropriate length - NOS before ride Tape; Benotto - NOS before ride
It took my about 2 years to get it done, and it has only been done for about 6 months now.
Most of the time it has been on display at the Pristine store. I'm really sad to see it go but unfortunately
due to moving house and an expensive graduation project I'm kind of forced to sell it..
Size wise Id say it's about a 57cm effective. I'm normally a 60/62 so this is much to small for me..
Price wise I'm looking to get in the region of £2250.
I'm open to offer on the entire set of parts (without the frame) - **won't consider splitting everything up atm
**I know this might not be the right place but wanted to give it a go, donation will be made upon sale
