Actually, to try and shim out 6.4mm with a can might be a bit too much.
I would just sell the OS ones and get the right ones for your bars.
Might be a pain now but you would never have to think about it again, unlike trying to make the 31.8's fit where you would spend a life time tightening and rotating and adjusting.
