Cheers Mate, its coming along slowly.
I kinda like the rattiness of the frame, not sure if I should get a respray though?
BJ have quoted over £300 (inc. delivery and collection)

Hint - you don't need Bob Jackson to respray your frame, anyone can do it, Vaz, Argos, etc.
Also worth considering - the scratch and chip on the Bob Jackson is enough to make you not worry about scratching the bicycle and enjoying the ride.
If it been resprayed, you'd be more cautious.
all the chip on the top tube were from my lock.

It definitely doesn't look like it needs a respray, it would be a shame to strip it. just enjoy what it is. and as Ed says, you won't be scared to use it if it has a few scratches already.

i was thinking about getting mine resprayed but i'm going to leave it till and fet argos to do it when i have another bike so i wont miss my bob, after seeing the quality of the argos job on the bob jackson from that bristol cycles guy i have no doubts about the quality they offer and itd be less than £300 for sure

Also I think it's best to keep it for a while until you're completely sure it's a perfect bike for you, then it's worth getting respray.

I have some of the Mavic bullhorns I could be persuaded to part with, at the right price.
Nifty condition as well.

Its funny you should suggest that, I've actually got a pair on the bike right now.....slightly chopped absolutely lovely bars....
Just bought a ZEN chainring off here. Anyone want a NOS Sugino derilium 46t ring?

Bloody hell 2 weeks since the last update. With last weekends great weather this took a back seat.
Pretty much finished this morning:
Just need to tweak a few bits and get the wheels trued, then boom! Hopefully ready for critical mass!
Theres a couple of people on here with BJ Vigorelli's in CP but here's my version.
Bought the frame off Metrocammell about a month ago and have been accumulating parts ever since. It came with a campy record pista BB already installed and an ofmega headset.
Building this with a view of taking it to HH for some practice sessions. Will I be ok with 167.5 mm cranks? I realise I'll have to swap the bull horns out as well and loose the brake.
The frame has a few nice features which i think are different to other Vigorelli's - beautiful flat crown fork, Dimped seat tube and long rear dropouts; these were the deal clincher for me.
I've decided to go for a Japanese aesthetic as much as possible to make a change from my campag equipped road bike. I have to admit I'm not too clued up on Jap parts so lets see how this goes....
Gave the fame a quick clean a la:
The parts I've accumulated so far are:
Selle San Marco Turbo
Dura Ace AX Seatpost (late 80's I think)
Dura Ace 7600 Crank Arms
NOS Sugino Super Mighty chainring (46t)
Nitto 80mm Dynamic Stem
That's all at the moment......waiting on:
DA7600 wheels on Aerotracks
DA7400 pedals and clips
Mavic Bullhorns
Let us know what you think. If anyone knows or has either some NOS or used Vento/Shamal/Atlanta 96 rims I would be interested in talking to you.
Thanks
