Definately go for it. And anothe +1 for a half decent carbon post.
I just rode on a van nic Thomson copy and compared to the specialised one with zertz insert thingys on my everyday bike there's no contest.
Personally I'd go for carbon road drops and levers over bull horns, but ymmv. Decent ones should help with the vibrations and would probably be a better deployment of funds than something like an expensive fancy stem.
