I remember popping in Condor to pick up some stuff and overheard a staff member saying: 'Man, this is far too stiff for the road, I can believe people would ride that for their commute'

the rides were a bit dull on my road bikes so I started doing them on my 464 to make it more interesting. ~65-75 miles every Saturday over crap, rutted, pot-holed Northumberland roads and never had an issue with comfort.
There you go, nothing like practical experience. That's good enough for me, I say go for it.
