I was always very much in the 'dont ride an alu track bike on the road etc etc' school of thought..
Then I built a Giant Omnium for the track but for one reason or another (my other bikes are too expensive to lock up, or in bits at the moment) have ended up also using it for a bit of riding around town/some 50mile rides recently.. and while it's not super comfy, it's fine if you have a decent carbon post / good fit / comfortable contact points..
Don't think I would want to ride it any further than 50miles though.
