It's not, it's an aluminium track bike. Which are fine for the track/destroying your commute but if you seriously want to use this for medium distance rides as you say then carbon, steel or titanium is what you want.
Alu road bikes are one thing (although not one thing I'd want personally, unless they also had some carbon in too) but Look themselves describe this frame as 'exceptionally rigid'.
I would have a re-think on the frame if I was you.
