I mean, how often do you really get punctures, and have a puncture repair kit or spare tube, and tyre levers but not a pump? And also be far enough away from a bike shop not to be able to use their pump. How often do you really get punctures anyway?
I would much rather the money was spent on any number of other things that would be of use to cyclists. More bike racks, for example.
