Right then: Old: the line that Brucie crossed (with the Torch) The Old White City Stadium, home of the 1908 London Olympics at the BBC media Village - Habbi were you secretly watching?
New: From one old stadium to another:
Clue: this would knock the very sideburns of Wiggo in its current state, the thorns are well sharp

...- Habbi were you secretly watching?
I'd have put the kettle on if I'd known you were on your way...!

• #8482
ok, more track than stadium. If Thursday's events are anything to go by, things have come a long way since then...

Ah, that one was in the Guardian, last year. Well, a Guardian.

i think i know where it is. cant get a proper lock in though and am meant to be working. not sure about the wiggo well sharp clue either.

I know exactly where it is, have a new tag with more arches in mind but am totally the wrong side of London to get it.
I thought the clue was a bit bold as it basically gave the location away.... -

C'mon wvm it's a lovely day, bring it back to SE.
-
• #8491
If you tell me where it is, I will bring it SE

Okay, I'm not entirely sure the spot that the picture was taken from, but I'm going to try to get it. Hope it's not a wasted trip for me!

Old tag: bridge at Brent reservoir, the thorns at Wells Harp ate well Sharp! Ow.
New tag
This place also has sporting pedigree.

well done Doctor Cake!
Welsh Harp reservoir (Brent Reservoir) built 1834 to provide water for the Grand Union Canal- believed to be the scene of the first official cycle race in Britain, 1st June 1868, the day after the St Cloud one in Paris.
- there was a velodrome of sorts built on the west of the lake north of the bridge (in my pic it's roughly where the trees poke up above the bridge). I think you can see this on Google Earth's 'timeline' satellite images from 1945, though it could also be the circuit shaped trees visible on today's satellite images
- and then there's the curious link to James Moore - winner of the first Paris-Rouen race 1869. Legend has it that he is buried somewhere around the lake although the exact location is a mystery
neat summary here:

http://www.brentcyclists.org.uk/content/brents-parks-and-open-spacesIf you carry on down the same little path south east of the bridge you get the most amazing view of another famous stadium:
- believed to be the scene of the first official cycle race in Britain, 1st June 1868, the day after the St Cloud one in Paris.

C'mon wvm it's a lovely day, bring it back to SE.
If I wasn't working I could have been tempted. The follow on linked tag I had in mind was Five Arches in Footscray Meadows which would have been well and truly SE.

I have been tempted to get a tag for the missile battery on Blackheath, only appropriate since the park is closed for the horses....

Some additional clues:
You might not be able to do one of the original things that this place was built for anymore, but the other activities are alive and well. There's even a thread related to this place on the forum. -

On my way...

Old: Bandstand at Paddington Rec
New:

My spidey sense says retag? Maybe not... Ignore me idk
