  • Just putting down a marker, I don't expect it to be the lightest.

  • ;-)

My current road fixeh is 6.8kgs thats why i think i can bring it to under 5... I am now stressing im going to destroy it riding.

  • Have you actually weighed your current one, or is that speculation?

  • Accurately!!!

    1.Me on scale

    1. Me on scale with bike

    2-1 = 6.8 :-)

  • 1-2 = -6.8 Which is obviously lighter.

  • you could always just weigh it in an elevator...

  • I just ordered a frame, have cranks and seatpost on route and you say its dead???

My steel BJ weighs that...ish . I'm going to upgrade to a lighter alu frame, with 1.1/8" threadless carbon forks. Was kinda hoping to get down to 6Kg without much expense.

  • I'd call that a direct challenge Iain.

  • Thats with medium to lightweight components, and what I already have on the Bob.

CXP 33s laced to hollow axled, lowflange novatech hubs, with revolution spokes. (Have)
Campy pista crankset (with ceramic BB, and Ti axle) (Have)
    Campag Chorus brake caliper (Have)
    Alu bull horns (new part)
    KCNC stem (new part)
    KCNC seatpost (new part)
    SLR Ti saddle (new part)

Not exactly a bling weenie build.

I want to see chain breaker threaten 5Kg.

  • He can produce five kilo turds...

  • He can produce five kilo turds...

    Weigh self + bike = A
    Lay cable B
    Weigh self = C
    Calculate bike weight D

    Claim that A - C = D

If Cable B = 5Kg, Bike weight D could well be sub 1Kg.

    Enter WW hall of fame.

  • Yep, kitchen scales purchased for cooking duties and pressed into service for component weighing on an ad hoc basis, and the hanging scales (fish scales I think they are) I did buy for bike weighing.

Have you calibrated your hanging scale?

Mine over read by 6.7% at 8kg which I put down to the reverse WW tendencies of carp anglers......

  • Impossible.

  • i am dealing with Hotlines, it took them over 6 months to fail to deliver the same frame to Howard on here!
