Stolen bikes

I don't think the guy we got it off was the guy who stole it - only a gut feeling, but someone with the nerve to smash their way into a garden shed through a locked gate would have kicked up more of a fuss. He was also quite comfortable meeting us under CCTV.

Didn't give him any money, by the time we showed him the frame number matched the one we'd written down in advance he really didn't have a leg to stand on. We just wheeled the bike back into the station and jumped on the train home.

Actual thieves sometimes just send their young guns to deliver these items...

How about this as a deterrant: Spring loaded spear inside the seat tube that rams up when triggered. That would make a sweet youtube vid. : )

My beloved fuji track was stolen from my estate, over a year ago, police were "very" helpful. My next step was a folding bike which I take home every day.

My Herman Braun was stolen just over a month ago...slow to post as the police were trying to help. Guy was trying to sell it through retrobike.co.uk. If anyone sees it... pink to yellow fade (can't miss it!), HB decals all over. Last seen with black taped drops with interruptors, shimano groupset, black schawlbes, looong stem, bottle cage, black ladies saddle. Link to a pic of the frame here I hope...
