Nice pair of suspension forks, 26" wheels, disc brakes, 9 speed, fairly small chainring = massive amounts of fun.
Only downside is that it'll be heavier than an aluminium one, but it'd be bulletproof.
edit - and it'll not be a great XC MTB, but it'll be fine for occasional XC rides so long as they aren't massively long. IMHO.
