@mmccarthy.. I'd assumed they hired the whole place. That's really poor planning on their part to only "reserve" a space. All your points are valid. It's part and parcel of TV production these days. Cheap. Cheap. Cheap.. You can't make a show in the corner of a cafe.. It needs to be a controlled environment..
Just re-read my reply and it did seem a bit ranty, sorry about that dude. Quite a lot of people have been complaining that the cafe was too loud pointing the finger at the cafe management which I figured was a bit unfair. Like I said, if you go into a busy place, at lunchtime when it's usually quite busy, and they've got a crowd of very happy, enthusiastic and some slightly tipsy people, don't be surprised if there's a bit of background noise.
I reckon it could work well if they copied Top Gear and sold tickets to get in but i'm not sure how that would work with the cafe. And I guess at this point when the show is just getting of the ground, it'd be hard to sell tickets. Anyway, i'm looking forward to seeing how it develops.
