Hey Hey! def up for a ride tomorrow - Hills please, if you guys are up for it;-). I'm thinking Limekiln and the run out towards Fulbourn - there are also some nice roads around Carlton and West Wratting, though we are pushing out quite far then...
-
• #54
Oh - and gears all good! Sure you will destroy me though!
-
• #55
...and yes - 7 at t'Pole sounds good;-)

Big loop out to Carlton with a pub stop in Brinkley looks good to me.
Balsham>West Wickham>Carlton>Six Mile Bottom>Stow-Cum-Quy>Maypole

Mapped that as 32 miles, bit long maybe?
-
• #58
It's quite long, but we can always cut it short if it all gets too much.
-
• #59
aye let's do this. the more the better oui?

• #60
Oui oui!

Great ride tonite - thanks for planning that Tom. Fairly long one - with the ride to work this morning, done about 40miles today - not bad for a working day, men;-).
Allowing for the couple of stops we took, that was fairly quick, too - this route was one of my favorite rides yet: great countryside, amazing weather and superb hilly route - I'm no descender (lost the bottle for that in my old age;-), but think I hit well over 30mph - you guys probably a bit quicker.
Hope a few more people come along now the weather has picked up! Be amazing to get back to the days where there were 20+ of us!;-)

Agreed, an excellent ride through some beautiful countryside :)
-
• #63
Indeed, I keep planning to come along but never made it happen just yet...
-
• #64
Was grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat! some lovely roads out that way.
Tracking Map (had auto pause off mind)
I hit 32.1mph apparently! spin spin spin!! and 47 miles total yesterday! :o

Hey Cambridge lot, I'm leading a ride from London to Cambridge on the 22 of Sept and arriving at the Maypole at some point in the afternoon. If any of you fancy coming down to London and then riding home the ride is here: http://www.lfgss.com/thread91923.html
Also would be great to some CFGSSers so if you fancy a pint at the Maypole with us I'll drop a message on this page when we're there or PM me and we can do some number swapping arranging or whatevs....

• #66
that is tempting! but would i struggle to get into london that early is the question from camb ?
-
• #67
Definitely doable as its only a 45-50 minute train. What gear ratio do most do it in? I'm tempted... Guess we can catch the train down together.

I know it's a little dull but has anyone on here organised a group ride along the guided busway yet? Starting at Orchard Park and doing a two way trip to Stives and back, with a stop for food/beer in Stives would be good. Also a good excuse for me to try a different gear ratio on my recently bought Single speed bike.

I ride that way quite a lot, it's a nice ride and buttery smooth but it's quite exposed and there's pretty much always a head wind. I'd be up for it sometime.
-
• #70
hows about a ride down meet halfway and ride back option?
-
• #71
I'm fairly busy at the mo. But should have a few gaps in the schedule soon.

Hey-on the london to cambridge ride-may well be up for that, or at least maypole for beers! I did that London to cam sportive thing on my genesis flyer a few years ago, but was ss-think 46:17or16, so quite spinny. Is a nice ride-quite a few hills, nothing severe of course.
-
• #73
OK so is anyone else up for the London - cams ride tomorrow? I'll be going and it would be good to have more people come along.
-
• #74
Sorry - I have to call off... can't do this I'm afraid. May be at Maypole for beers though....

Anyone fancy a ride tonight? (If the rain stays away)
Might come along but only have gears...is that cool? Where and when you guys meet?
