rapha dressage
I have spotted some real contenders for this event around Regents Park, Euston and Clerkenwell.

Except that's not what they have done. They've turned the bus lanes into everybody and their angry dog lanes, and the normal offside lanes into onlycuntsinpinkanadpurpleBMW lanes.
Yep
And the fact the they have chosen BMW's as the vehicle of choice should set alarm bells ringing. It's not as if Beemer drivers aren;t generally the biggest cunts on the roads as it is. Now they have their own lanes to race around in. And an outside lane to make it even more dangerous. I fear for any cyclist who strays in there by mistake. -

I am convinced the drivers of the Olympic BMWs are failed Addison Lee drivers. Shocking driving out there.

And drivers in Games Lanes will have an even greater sense of entitlement.
The lanes are for them, and them alone, after all.
Woe betide anyone that gets in their way.

How long before a headline
"Cyclist hospitalised after colliding with Olympic Vehicle in specially dedicated lane"
I give it until Friday
-
• #207
I'm willing to bet that there would be no prosecutions of the drivers either.
-
• #208
It's like the ibikelondon blog says, the drivers will be inexperienced and glued to their sat-navs. Dangerous times.

Amen to this - some of them are absolutely clueless.

Most of the drivers are volunteers. Only the ones for the top 'VIPs' are paid - cabbies and mini-cabbies. All the rest are randoms. Many are not even from London's Famous London and are even from Abroad and Forrin.
Loads of these dropped out at the induction due to being shit scared at the realisation they would be driving in normal London conditions. The sat navs have the olympic routes pre-planned in, but 2/3 of the passengers can ask to go anywhere they like. And the sat navs don't work much of the time. And aren't up to date with much of London - one way streets etc. The postcode for the main Olympic park doesn't show up them.
Happy dayz.

The madness has begun on the OKR!! Elephant to New Cross is stacked and the drivers are getting angry!
Safe home to all riders.

I am seeing the same thing, beemers are speeding by and they seem to be totally unchecked. I think traffic control of the olympic lanes is going to be like the CC charge for the american embassy, i.e non-existent. Oh, this makes me mad

hmm, you can get a speed camera app for smart phones, might try some monitoring (of zero legal importance) just to see...

I've noticed more HGVs and goods traffic on the roads in the mornings recently. I've also noticed that many are out of town haulage firms and not that good at checking mirrors etc before turning. I really hope that my hypothesis that the cycle campaign groups should match TFLs "how to get around during the games" campaign with a "ride conservatively" campaign is proven wrong. I prob know fuck all after all.
Traffic has been gradually becoming hellish in SE London in the last few days.

I've thought about this as well, it's just so easy to get down at night with a spray can too. Those rings look awful clean and new

m.. interesting. Although my first reaction was to shout my head off to the driver rather than reaching for the phone. : )

Everyone is so angry out there. I saw an articulated lorry go on the rampage in Marylebone this morning, jumping red lights and smacking his trailer off the central bollards. Scary as fuck.

• #219
yes, lorries and buses going mental

Following a lorry yesterday up chancery lane near single lane section at the top, he just stopped with no indication whatsoever. Traffic behind him had no idea road in from was clear. When I asked him if it might be a good idea to indicate this to the cars right up his bumper, so they could move round him, his response was "they can go fuck themselves".
People seem to be getting angrier.

Yesterday, apart from having to go round Parliament fucking square because the right turn from Westminster bridge has been blocked off, the embankment was completely clear thanks to the olympic lane. I breezed up there.
Shame none of the (admittedly few) drivers in the left hand lane could be bothered reading the signs that said it wasn't restricted until wednesday.

Had the same thing this morning, i got cut up by 2 lorry drivers pulling into my lane with no indication or notice, one of them preceded to slam his brakes and THEN (after stopping) putting his hazard lights on as he started reeversing, all in about 2 seconds
had to dump my bike on the floor and jump out the way shouting after almost cutting up another cyclist as i tried to swerve right with the remaining momentum i had
fucking moron
