Was about to post a thread on this... I start at 9am too, I'll be on a green dawes galaxy with yellow bartape and saddle. I've not done it before, is it good?

First long-ish ride I'd ever done fixed, no problems on 72GI

when I did it I was running 75" with no probs, and I'm not a very strong rider.

Nice to hear some other people are doing it ss/fixed! All my coworkers think I'm bonkers, but it did manage to eek a bit more cash out of them.

I reckon it will be fine!? I manage 40 miles at the weekend with a bit of puff left over, so as long as I keep my stove burning with mars bars, I should be fine.

Wardy, I will keep my eyes peeled for you. I will be on the black cinelli gazette with black velocity deep v's. Would be nice to have someone to ride with!

Also, I'm planning on sticking to 44/16 so the hills aren't to much of a challenge. I do have the option of 44/14 though, which would obviously be more comfortable on the flats. Anyone got an opinion?

My fixie is 49/17, probably could do it on that... I just got flu though, so if i'm not feeling better i'm gonna have to scrap it. Brilliant start to summer! :P

You've probably picked the wrong day to cycle to Cambridge then. Anyway, I'd imagine it would be the A10.

I know, I'd go elsewhere but it would involve my parents moving house as I'm trying to go and visit them!

I've planned an alternate route up the A1 (pleasant).

Lee Valley park, Roydon, Much Hadham, and north to the west of the M11, only crossing it just outside Cambridge. No A10!
