as i already said in the "fixed super light super safe"-thread it's time to open another thread for a fixed weight weenie bike. but this time with pictures, an existing bike which is already be ridden and a bike which has a real progress.
it all started with selling my dodici special. after nearly 4.000km i realised that the top tube is a bit too long and that i can't see the curved seat tube anymore. i had, like often before, a look around the net and all posibilities of otp-frames. at the end i had the look 464 al p and the dolan seta on my list and started looking for second hand frames. i opened a wtb-thread in the classifieds and a few minutes later i got a reply that said that someone already opened a dolan seta for sale-thread. it was my size, but i always wanted an all black dolan seta. after realising how hard it would be to find a second hand one in my size and in all black i decided to buy the blue/black one. it was nearly new, only ridden a few times, only 2 little nicks and the price was fine too.
at this moment i don't wanted to invest too much in this project so i just changed all the parts from the dodici to the dolan. get a free green (!) headset from a friend of mine and the seatpost was included in the sale.
as i had bought the carbon saddle only a few weeks ago before i decided to sell the dodici, a hilarious idea came up. how would it be to save more weight? the frame was light (1.14kg), the saddle too (99g), the 3t seatpost felt light, so a good start for this project.
stage 1: done.
current weight: don't really know, forgot to write it down, but appr. 7.3kg
(as i'm not a native speaker please forgive me any mistakes in grammar, explaining or not using the right words)
UPDATE 2013: I'm not longer interested to build up a lightweight fixed bike, therefore I rebuild the bike into a carbon slave bike.
